The cries of Jūratė can still be heard through the waters of the Baltic Sea and Jurate’s tears sweep up onto the shores of the Baltic lands in the form of Amber. For Jūratė fell for a mere mortal man and this was her weakness as a goddess. No legend is more famous in Lithuania than the legend of Jūratė and Kastytis. Kastytis was a fisherman who also wrote songs. Jūratė lived in a beautiful castle made of Amber underneath the sea. Jūratė’s Castle was one of the most sought after properties in all of the Baltic Sea. Also Jūratė’s land was vast and she did a great job ruling over all the maritime creatures of the sea. She was not happy with the amount of fish this fisherman had taken from the area.

Perkunas had to ruin everything.
